We invite you to be one of this year’s sponsors for The Gardening Faire. This one-day, free admission event is scheduled for June 25, 2011 on the grassy fields of Scotts Valley’s Skypark.
The California Native Garden Foundation, a non-profit statewide organization is organizing this event for home gardeners who want to use environment-friendly methods and do their gardening in concert with nature.
The Faire’s main events will include talks by interesting and dynamic experts, plus workshops and demonstrations by local gardening and ecological landscaping groups. The event will include a marketplace of plants as well as garden tools, products, and arts and crafts.
The speakers’ presentations will reflect current best practices of sustainable gardening and agricultural research by the University of California’s Cooperative Extension and other similar institutions.
The Faire will include both gardening and cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, live music and healthful food.
Our 2011 theme is Celebrate Abundance. We encourage home gardeners to pursue both edible and ornamental gardening, grow vegetables and fruits organically and eat healthful foods.
Lively Publicity
Media Support — The Santa Cruz Weekly is the Faire’s official print media sponsor. We also send releases to print and electronic channels, and e-mail “blasts” to garden groups and businesses.
Signage — Posters in locations in Santa Cruz, Monterey and Santa Clara counties, banners and navigational signs within the Faire, and exhibitors’ names on the booths.
Website—thegardenfaire.org, provides current information about Activities, Speakers, Exhibitors and Sponsors.
Participants
Attendees — Based on previous experience, the Faire will attract an estimated 3,000+ gardening enthusiasts, including beginning and skilled home gardeners, and professional landscapers.
Speakers — Emphasis on local professionals with expert knowledge of sustainable gardening and landscaping.
Exhibitors — Representatives of local community groups and businesses who will advance the Faire’s educational focus on sustainable gardening practices and offer plants and garden-related items for sale.
